Started the match on the bench after a first-grader dropped inevitably taking my spot without choice. I replaced the same centre-back in the 70th minute and the score was 0-0. An opposing player had received a red card in the first half after throwing a punch, leaving it 11v10. Either team had several chances to score by the time I had come on, however the goalless match continued. After coming on, I slowed the game down after either team tried their best to score. Slowing down the game meant that the oppositions had to press allowing us as a team to play through them. A smarter and more rational approach then saw us gain momentum, eventually scoring 2 consecutive counter-attacking goals to seal what was a heated and intense matchup. Overall, I felt my 20 minute stint was a game-changer as I brought composure and efficiency into the team, during a game of aggression and intensity. I was solid defensively and effective in possession.
