U20 Round 14 (ML1): Mounties Wanderers FC vs Bonnyrigg White Eagles FC

A day with weather changing like the minutes, rain, hail, shine, and wind. I played 90 minutes at left-fullback. Individually, my performance was average through the majority of the game, having some good moments but wasn’t as good as I should’ve been defensively. Had 1 poor moment on the ball which is a rarity but for the most part did what I could with the ball. I faced physical, older wingers which sometimes got the better of me but I didn’t lose the individual battles, a 50/50 in my opinion. My body was up to par today either and I felt slow, regardless trying my best but not my usual self. The team as a whole was poor. The defence put in a good showing in the first half however the attack did not take advantage of their chances and therefore, missed opportunities. The Eagles came out strong after a goalless first half and proceeded to score 2 goals, before we responded with one, then they eventually closed the game with another. 2 poor errors from our centre-back and a free-kick being the goals they converted, cheap to concede those ways. Have to move on but tough knowing the team isn’t learning from their mistakes as they should.
