Another full match played at left-fullback. I had a very good first half and was really solid in everything I did, especially regarding my defensive work and progressing play up the pitch. I communicated well in the first half and aside from my individual efforts, we were left 3-0 down at the break, 2 goals coming from counter attacks and another from a cross. We brought back the score to 3-2 in the second half before they score again. My second half was not as good and we weren’t playing well as a team, especially after they scored their fourth goal. The play wasn’t being switched to my side enough and we wasted chances with long balls and poor shots from distance. The one thing which kept happening throughout the game was a long-ball over my head which was undefendable as our line was too high, which lead to one goal in the first half. I tried asking to change it but it didn’t happen so they kept exposing us in-behind with good chances being saved by our goalkeeper. Another frustrating game to play in and looking onto the next.
