In this game I started at right centre-back in a 1-4-2-3-1 formation. The game had an energetic start before it settled a few minutes in, where we controlled the majority and were creating chances during the first half but could not finish our well-worked chances. I had a very good game on the ball as well as defensively, and played with confidence, taking on opposition players that were pressing, winning 50/50’s, winning challenges and good defensive positioning. Improved on some minor details during the game, the main one being recovery runs to defend crosses into the box, and also picked up on other things to improve on. A hard loss to take after such a deserving performance but sometimes the better team isn’t rewarded for their play. Take away the goods and we move on.
