U20 Round 10 (ML1): Mounties Wanderers FC vs Macarthur Rams FC

Final Score: Mounties 0 - 3 Rams

Another loss in the books for the season, hard to snap out of the streak at the moment. Played yet another 90 minutes which is very good, might have already had more starts 10 games into this season than all of last-season which is good. A difficult game at left-back, a lot to do with the fact I was barely involved and was mainly running the whole game. I had a very good first half, great energy, leadership, communication, initiative in defence and physicality. I did everything in my power to not let anything come down my side and did well. Regardless of my efforts, we ended the half 2-0 down and looked to comeback in the second half. However the second half was more of a mess. Individually for 30 minutes of the half I was consistent and continued my efforts from the first half. In the final 15 minutes my effort dropped as I honestly lost hope, became unbothered and annoyed at the rest of my team. Before this happened, I had no involvement in our possession sequences and my team continuously lost the ball in the same ways and I was having to keep tracking back, wasting needless energy and ruining our chances of taking something from the game. I don’t have enough influence on the game from left-back and my voice or communicational efforts don’t seem to help the team either, so there’s not a lot I can do when I can’t influence the team with my talk, or my actions on the ball as I wouldn’t even get passed it. I had about 6 touches in the second half, 5 of those being positive involvements which lead to an attacking opportunity, however with a bit of thinking process and patience, I could have been involved more and possibly helped the team draw a result from the game. Full time was a 3-0 loss.
