U18 Round 8 (YL2): St George FC vs Hakoah FC

Final Score: St George FC 2 - 1 Hakoah FC

In this game, full of unprecedented action, I started and played a full 90 minutes at right centre-back in a 1-4-2-3-1. A brief summary of the game includes 1 red card from either team, Hakoah having theirs in the first half and St George in the second half. My main objectives for the game were to communicate well out of the back, which I did really well, having had an inexperienced fullback by my side and helping him stay in formation, then also having the other centre-back sent off, meaning I had to step up and lead the defence. My other goal was to play with confidence which I did well too. Had a good aerial, and defensive game, and was positive with my passing, creating several chances from my passes through the oppositions lines of defence. Keeping consistent was key to the game, where the referee’s calls, and the oppositions physicality, would fluctuate the tempo and mood of the game. Overall a great performance from me, and from the team for persisting through.
