U18 Round 5 (YL2): Bankstown United FC vs St George FC

Final Score: Bankstown United FC 2 - 0 St George FC

In this game I started as a right centre-back in a 1-3-4-2-1. My team was dominant in possession for the majority of the start of the game but we were caught twice from oppositions counter attacks, after our attacking set pieces, and conceded from both of them. We conceded from the first transition but did not realise our mistakes, leading to an eventual second goal from the same circumstance. Being critical on myself, I didn’t track back well enough on either instance, where maybe I could have had an effect on their attack to prevent them scoring. After their 2 goals, we kept dominating possession thoroughly and creating plenty of chances, but none were testing the goalkeeper enough. The opposition were making plenty of substitutions, trying to see the game out, and also breaking up the rhythm of the game. Overall, our only deficiency in the game was not testing the goalkeeper enough which lead to the loss.
