U16 Round 2: BWEFC v St George FC

This second round game was closely contested between both teams with a converted penalty in the second half separating them.

Game Performance

In this game, I began the game in the starting 11 and played a strong first half. With my defensive efforts, we pulled our way through the first half with a clean sheet. I made multiple interceptions, tackles and clearances as well as 1 shot on target when I went in our attacking third for a set piece. Keeping solid in defence and on the ball, we kept possession and thoroughly outplayed the opposition but could not convert our chances leaving it 0-0 at half time.

I started in the second half where the game began to unravel and more chances were being created from both teams. I was able to hold off and prevent multiple chances from the opposition from set pieces and counter attacks. We eventually conceded a penalty making it 1-0 to St George and about 5 minutes later I was substituted for the rest of the game.

I played a very strong first half with an 8/10 performance in my opinion but dropped to about a 6.5/10 with a lack of energy and determination overruling my game.
