U20 Round 5 (ML1): Dunbar Rovers vs Mounties Wanderers FC

Final Score: Rovers 2 - 5 Mounties

Started the game at right-fullback and moved into left full-back during the first half. We were 3-0 up and then conceded a penalty where the keeper was wrongfully sent off, poor refereeing continuing through the game. We were faced with the task of playing with 10-men for the remaining 60 minutes of the game. A hard fought and gritty second half display from the team saw us score more goals and eventually win resoundingly. Individually, in the first half I was pretty unsettled and didn’t have a lot to do but I felt much better in the second half and played very well with a high work rate, having good defensive moments and being very positive on the ball.

U18 Round 1 (YL2): Mounties Wanderers vs Bulls FC

Final Score: Mounties 1 - 4 Bulls

Helping out the 18’s again as they’re short on players with a midweek game against a strong side. I played the second half of this match and did fairly well at CDM. As a team we did not play poorly but were outplayed on tactics as our formation was not good enough to defend and counter the formation they were using. When I came on I brought an energy to the team where we were able to score a goal, however a lack of tactical structure lead to them scoring more goals and running away with the victory. My work rate, communication and ball work were substantial but there was not a lot I could’ve done differently.
